Have you ever tried goat cheese? Most of us have seen it in gourmet recipes or on menus in restaurants, but for some it’s been too far out of their food comfort zone. Well, take our word for it, goat cheese is a taste you don’t want to miss. There’s good reasons for goat cheese’s rise in popularity, not least of which is the fact that goat cheese is slightly tangier and much more flavorful than cheese made from cow’s milk. Goat cheese has higher levels of nutrients like Vitamins A, B, D, and K, plus it’s lower calorie and has a chemical structure that makes it easier to digest for people who typically have trouble with dairy products. As a rule, goats require less pasture, so they are raised with more access to free range grazing, and objectionable substances like antibiotics and hormones are kept to a minimum or not used at all.
We now have Vermont Creamery Classic Chevre Goat Cheese for sale in our fridge, and we’d love to share the deliciousness with you. This cheese is perfect on salads, sandwiches, or in casseroles, pasta dishes, or soups. If you’re feeling lazy, you can just spread a spoonful of it on a cracker like we did in the picture. You can add tomato slices and green onion, maybe some black pepper or paprika too if you like spicy. Yum. Perfect snack.
